Living Life Fueled by Passion
Updated: Feb 14, 2020
“So I always ask the question: What would you like to do if money were no object? How would you really enjoy spending your life?" - Alan Watts
I invite you for a moment to allow your eyes to rest; either close them or gentle rest your gaze somewhere in front of you and as you inhale ask yourself what does passion means to you... Exhale completely, picture yourself living your life fueled by your passion.
Pause here to breathe for a moment and take in your thoughts. Now, what are you passionate about?
Passion is easy to see in someone, as they possess the ability to work hard while it looks effortless, they exude excitement and have courage to take leaps into the unknown.
There has been times where I have longed for these qualities and have felt they were unattainable but such qualities don’t just come to you without hard work and dedication. Taking it day by day, working hard for yourself and showing up to challenges that arise with an intention to overcome obstacles with grace and courage are the first steps to creating a life fueled by passion.
Whats the worst to arise? You fail a few times? Someone puts you down? You have a bad day, a bad week or month? You get distracted? Whatever happens, it's totally okay. Moving past obstacles and moving into action is the first step to living your life, your way.
Personally, I worry I'm not good enough, not bold enough, not attractive enough. I worry I can't make a stable income from my passions or I haven't got what it takes in the eyes of others. But that's all my negative ego talking.
I'm sure many can relate because these are common, unwanted and unhelpful thoughts that our egos tend to throw out at us but they have no use and create no space for us to play small in the game of our lives.
I say, let's come back to the beginning where we started. Rest your eyes and take a deep inhale and imagine your life fueled by passion. Inhale the courage in takes to move into action and when you're ready, exhale all the unwanted obstacles holding you back.
There is no passion to be found playing small--in settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living."-Nelson Mandela
